We would like to report three cases of cornual ectopic pregnancies treated laparoscopically
using the Multifire Endo GIA Stapler (Tyco Healthcare UK, Ltd.), which fires fine
titanium staples, which simultaneously transects and achieves hemostasis during cornual
resection. Cornual pregnancy is one of the most hazardous types of extrauterine gestation
and mortality rates of 2.0–2.5% have been quoted, mainly due to its late presentation
and risk of hemorrhage. In fact, four of the 11 maternal deaths from extrauterine
pregnancy in the 2000–2002 Confidential Enquiry into Maternal and Child Health (CEMACH)
Report in the United Kingdom [
[1]
] were directly related to ruptured cornual ectopic pregnancy. Keywords
